Obituary of Michael Berry

Michael Ralph Berry of New Bedford, 51 passed away after a hospitalization and complications from Covid-19. He was born on April 7, 1969 in Waltham, Ma. He was the son of the late Bruce and Catherine Berry.

After Graduating from Brockton High School in 1987, Michael enlisted into the US Navy where he was stationed in Japan and was a BM3 on the USS Midway from 1988-1991 and a BM2 on the USS Fife DD991 from 1991-1994. He then returned home to the states and worked for Jordan's Furniture as an inventory control coordinator.

Michael is survived by his partner Tina Schuboth and children Andrew and Jocelynn Yanakisawa Berry and Isabella Berry. He had 2 step-children Taichi Yanagisawa and Samatha Schuboth and he was Papa to Auri and Kanato Yanagisawa and Aurora Schuboth, brothers John Berry and wife Brandy of Carver, Matthew Berry and wife Tina of Middleboro, sister Krista Spencer and husband James of Brockton and is predeceased by his brother Robert Berry. Michael also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. 

Michael loved being with family and friends and was an avid wrestling fan and loved Boston sports, fishing and his annual meat on a stick outing. Michael will be missed by many and will remain forever in our hearts.

Calling Hours for Michael will be held on Saturday April 3,2021 from 2pm to 4 pm  at the Shepherd funeral Home located at 116 Main St Carver, Ma.
