Obituary of Roy Lee Vaughn
Roy Lee Vaughn, 84, of Kingston, MA passed away peacefully on February 18, 2022 after battling lung cancer. He was the beloved husband preceded by death of Sally (Figlioli) Vaughn with whom he shared 32 years of marriage and preceded by death by Laurel (Butkus) Vaughn with whom he shared 28 years.
Roy was born in Decatur, Tennessee on March 11,1937 of the late Luther Vaughn and Bertie (Rogers) Vaughn. He was the beloved brother to Della Carpenter, Edna Watkins, Bertha Thompson, Edward Vaughn, William Vaughn, and JC Vaughn. Stepsisters Catherine Wilson and Louise B. McKinney. Stepbrothers Kenneth Brown and Junior Brown. He was raised in Tennessee and in 1955 at the age of 16, enlisted into the US Air Force where he was stationed at Otis Air Force Base and made his home in Kingston, MA. Roy was a lifetime truck driver. He was able to earn a living and Support his family through trucking.
He leaves behind his children; Gina (Vaughn) Littlefield of Kingston, MA, Roy Lee Vaughn and his wife Angelica of Hyannis, MA, and Trevor Jay Vaughn and his wife Sheila of Kingston, MA. He also leaves behind his three stepchildren Christine, Joseph, and Andrew Ferro. He leaves behind his nine grandchildren : Darrell Vendetti, Derrick Vendetti, Tara Nouveau, Kyle Littlefield, Bryan Littlefield, Tessa Vaughn Foley, Kate Vaughn, Trevor Vaughn Jr, and Avery Vaughn. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren Sally Vendetti, Mia Vendetti, Violet Vendetti, Roylee Littlefield, and Evelyn Littlefield. Roy had many friends that will forever keep him in their hearts.
Roy enjoyed his daily conversations with his children and grandchildren. Though our hearts are broken, and we ache with sadness, he will always be remembered for his deep love of family, bright smile, teaching, and mentoring his children and grandchildren on life’s most important lessons.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 4pm-8pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, Kingston, MA 02364. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 10am at Shepherd’s Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 6 Green Street, Kingston, MA 02364.
