This message is for Doug from his extended family in Bend, OR, My name is Liz and I went to Silver Lake High School graduated in 1969. Through the years Doug and I developed a very strong friendship he was my BFF for about 50 years. I moved to the west coast years ago but we always stayed in touch. Over the years most of my family also moved to Bend, OR, so Doug came out numerous times to stay with me and my family to visit all of us!! There are no words that I can express to say how much I will miss him. We were always calling each other almost weekly and shared our life's ups and downs. I'm sending my and the family's condolence's included my husband Fred, my son John who he called Doug his uncle, his wife Pam and the 4 grandkids: My sisters Carol, Linda, nephews Michael & David, niece Lisa and there kids as well. Most of these people I listed knew Doug and were heart broken in hearing of his passing. To Taylor and Scott I send all my support and and love if you need anything I'm here for you! RIP my forever friend, sweet man and one of the true loves of my life!! I'll never forget you, I'll see you on the other side when it's my turn to raise up into the heavens!!!

Doug is my first cousin on my Nana Irish side. My Mom Lois May Irish Holmes is Ralph's sister. Doug & I (&our other sibs) spent many summers at Nana's. We were best buds & have stayed friends all these years even though I have lived in Texas since I was 15. We called & chatted every few months. Saw his last FB post on Dec 23rd & tried calling right after my 70th birthday in Jan this year. Have tried contacting him a few times. Placed a call on Tuesday morning & heard phone was no longer in service. I am saddened for all who loved him & are feeling this loss. I know of his sons; Scott & Taylor. I have pics of you both in your uniforms. I have pics he sent of himself holding grandsons. Please contact me 972-636-7835

Doug we have been friends for a lot of years. I will always look back fondly on all the coffee shop talks we had about almost everything under the sun. I also appreciate the many Emergency Trips to the house when my Father was so I’ll. My deepest condolences to Doug’s Family and many friends
