Obituary of William G. Kiniry III
William George Kiniry III of Pembroke, passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on April 19th, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Carolyn (Mann) Kiniry for 52 years, devoted father to Megan MacCurtain (husband Brian) of Kingston and Melissa Skillin (husband Gregory) of Dorchester. Loving grandfather to William MacCurtain, Declan MacCurtain and Daniel Skillin. Caring brother to his sisters, the late Virginia Marie Duggan, Mary Kathleen Cookson (husband Jack) of Hanson, and the late Susanne Marie Kiniry.
William was born at the Naval Hospital in Chelsea, Massachusetts on March 2, 1946 to the late Commander William G. Kiniry Jr. and the late Irene Marie (Durant) Kiniry.
“Bill” grew up in Scituate with the exception of the four years he and his family lived in Phoenix, Arizona.
He was a proud graduate of Scituate High School Class of 1964 and St. Michael’s College Class of 1968 graduating with a BA in Economics.
He had a successful career starting as an Area Manager for White Fuel/Texaco, becoming Vice President and General Manager of Quinoil industries and eventually the President and Owner of Alltown/All County Fuels. A career change in 2005 brought him to Baynets/Incord as a Vice President of Sales until his retirement.
He was very proud to be a member of Holy Family Church in Duxbury as a devoted attendee, lector, and former member of both the folk and adult choirs.
The dedication that Bill had to his faith was only exceeded by the love and devotion he had for his family. From their first meeting at Minot Beach to their last days together, the unwavering love he had for his wife Carol knew no bounds. The joy he found as a father was also unmatched, never missing a swim meet, soccer game or a chance to impart a life lesson. Later on in life, “Pop-pop” found new joy with the addition of his three grandsons, always lighting up when they entered the room. His smile, laughter, and great sense of humor will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday April 27 from 4pm - 8pm at the Shepherd Funeral Home in Kingston. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Duxbury on Thursday April 28 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Norwell VNA or The Wounded Warrior Project
In Loving Memory
