Joe was born in Natick, MA to Joseph and Catherine Cadillic on January 1, 1929. He grew up in Roxbury and went on to serve as a medic in the Army National Guard as well as working as a machinist and a carpenter at St. Regis Paper Company in Newton. He retired in 1991 and moved to Florida, enjoying the year round warmth and sunshine with his wife, Evelyn. In 2007, he moved back home to New England to spend more time with his family. He enjoyed sharing his morning coffee with his grandkids, lunches with his brother and sister in law, as well as watching the morning news, America’s Funniest Home Videos, and crime shows. He collected model trains, enjoyed puzzles and word searches, scratch tickets, reading Clive Cussler books, listening to the police scanner, watching parades and motorcycle runs, and feeding the birds.
Joe is survived by his daughter Donna Potrykus and husband Zachary (“son”) of Kingston, son Joseph Cadillic and wife Elissa of Dorchester, his daughter Sandra Young-Hooten of Bridgewater, his brother David Cadillic and wife Florence of Middleboro, as well as many loving grandchildren and nieces. He is preceded in death by his first love, wife Katherine Cadillic who passed in 1971, his loving wife of 35 years Evelyn Cadillic who passed in 2007, sister Cathleen Frizzell, and sister Frances Frizzell.
Joe loved animals and animals loved Joe. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations to be made in his name to the MSPCA.
The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to Judy Lennon, NP, Chrissy Matterazzo, MA, and Dr. Ulrike Kohler. We cannot thank you enough for the amazing care and love that you’ve given Joe all these years.
A hour of visitiation will be held on Saturday, August 13th from 10-11:00 am with a funeral service set to begin at 11:00 am at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rt. 106) Kingston.
