Obituary of Robert A. Williamson

Robert Arthur Williamson, 76, of Halifax, MA, passed away on February 22, 2023 in his home in Halifax, MA.  Robert Williamson was born in Weymouth, MA on November 10,1946 to Francis M. Williamson & Arthur Williamson. He went to Sacred Heart High School in Kingston, MA and then went on to earn a degree in political Science from U-Mass Boston.  Robert served in the US Navy in Vietnam earning a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal & Combat Action Ribbon.

After returning to Massachusetts, he had a career with the United States Postal Service. He married Rita Young and enjoyed many happy years on their pond with their dog Joey.

Robert is survived by his son Bret Williamson, of Killington, Vermont and two sisters Judith Sgarzi & Carolyn Judge as well as two grandchildren, Aidan Williamson and Wren Williamson.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife Rita Williamson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Brewery 44, 2 Montello Street, Carver, MA on March 25, from 12:00-3:00 (casual attire encouraged).
