Jane Hynes posted a condolence

My name is Jane Hynes and I was a colleague of Sr. Juliana or as I called her Jules at Simmons School of Social Work. We were friends from 1990 until I became aware of her illness from Sr. Charlotte. Many great memories of talking with her about her religeous life, school trials, her time in Vermont. We also shared time helping our friend and professor deal with his AIDS diagnosis. At the same time she helped me deal with the death of my brother from the same disease. We shared a love of Vermont where I lived for many years and also visited the Weston Priory. She was a great friend and we saw each other often while I lived in Massachusetts. We went for for lunches to catch up on our careers in Social Work. She also came to our home in Dedham a number of times.
She also invited me and I had the privilege of going to her convent in Kingston were we spent a peaceful afternoon looking over a beautiful lake covered in winter ice.
We had a lot of laughs together and I missed her when my husband and I moved to California . We often talked on the phone and kept up with each others lives until 2022 when I learned that Juliana was not well.
I found out about her death yesterday as I had sent a Christmas card to her that was returned. My husband and I would like to plant a tree and will make that happen for you to remember Vermont and for us to remember you.
