Today is June 29, 2023 (10 years since Chelsea's passing). Rich, I went to call you today, but the call didn't go through. My attempt to email didn't pan out either. I'm still in Iowa, and you wouldn't have expected me to call or write (I wouldn't have expected you to be gone this soon, so there's that). I wanted to say that I was thinking about you today as I was remembering Chelsea. 10 years ago, I walked into Chelsea's room & she didn't kick me out (rare for pastors, you said). She and I clicked, and then she was gone. You and I had some important conversations that summer. After Chelsea's service, you took me to Fenway and we had a beer together & remembered Chelsea with love. Rich, I find myself now missing you both. Of great consolation is the thought of the reunion happening now somewhere unseen. Rich, I still have the book that you gave me, and I still turn to that inscription from time to time when I need to be reminded again of why I do what I do. I still have the Red Sox jersey too, and I wear it often (much to the shagrin of the midwest's Cardinals and Cubs fans). I thank God for you Rich. Grateful for you, Jan, and Chelsea.
