Lori and Julia Murphy posted a condolence

Sadly we not informed of Brad's passing in time to attend his celebration of life. Those in our Island Creek community were shocked and have been praying (especially Lori and her daughter Julia) there was a mistake in the announcement that his father "was the Late" Verne Norman. We have not been able to confirm Vernes' whereabouts. Over the months we have called but know Vernes' communication and access to reliable phone was diminished when he was uprooted from our beloved neighbor in the Elms' to a less thriving retirement studio in Kingston. As we are not blood related our inquires were rebuffed. We knew
Brad through his wonderful father and our "adopted" grandfather. (an understatement) . There is little Verne did not share of his history. We know Brad carried deeply personal sorrow that affected his health. And although Verne was not a believer, I told him we believed enough for him that he would be united with his beloved Jean and Brad and his children and sister. We are praying we find Verne now rather than "later" Our thoughts and prayers are with Brads Family

As one of Brad’s doctors, l believe he lived life valiantly and with a flair. He loved his tennis and golf, and loves his dear daughter and her family. Despite many losses experienced as many of us do, he had never forgotten his gratitude for his family, work and life. I am writing this tribute with a grief of the loss of a patient and gratitude of having to have known him. Rest in peace, my friend.

Having played 2nd. base across from Brad with the Hawks baseball team for a number of years, I truly appreciated his enthusiasm & athleticism. He was a superb hitter & excellent bunter. What I especially remember is his full throttle head-first slides! He was a great double play combination from shortstop where he had wide range & a strong arm...R.I.P. Brad.

The girls at The Custom Solution will miss you. Always leaving the salon asking how you looked, then cracking a joke about looking better than you came in. You had a way of always making everyone in the salon laugh. I’ll miss our talks that we had which spanned over a decade.

As we travel through life, we meet all kinds of people. Brad was one of the truly special people! I will always remember him as a friend and one of the “good guys”. It was my pleasure to know and work with him during recent years. Congratulations my friend on a life well spent!

Brad walked on the tennis court with a smile, a cooler filled with cold drinks, and ready to talk and play. I was blessed to share conversation and long rallies with Brad for several decades. He was the epitome of a good sport. And a great friend.

I am grateful you were in my life. Your laughter, your smile, your kind heart…. That is what I will remember most. It is not what we have done, but how we make people feel, that they mattered, that is what I will remember most about you Brad. I miss your friendship, your energy and your presence.

A spirited and creative role model and gentleman, Brad served Kingston with distinction as its Facilities Department Head. In our early morning off hour meetings, Brad consistently provided friendly advice and optimistic opinions. As a USCG Veteran and the Kingston Facilities Director, Brad demonstrated 100% support of the Kingston Veteran Memorial development for which I am deeply grateful. Thank you, Shipmate!

Brad was a generous, kind, community-oriented man. I loved working with him, one of the best people I had the pleasure of working with in Kingston, always ready to help and so creative in how he went about it. I loved his cheerful demeanor, his endless optimism and energy, his philosophical approach to life, his ability to learn from difficulty. He was a pleasure to talk with, too. I'm very sad for the loss of my friend, but so glad to have wonderful memories of this truly great man. So grateful to have known him.
