Obituary of Robert (Bob) Quinn

Robert (Bob) Quinn, 66, of Pembroke, Massachusetts, died on August 3, 2023, following a brief period of declining health. Bob was born in Plainfield, New Jersey on December 5, 1956, the son of the late John and Katharine (Toland) Quinn. Bob lived in North Plainfield, New Jersey; Jenkintown, Pennsylvania; and Wayland, Massachusetts, during his formative years. He attended La Salle College High School in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, and Iona Preparatory Upper School in New Rochelle, New York, prior to attending Lehigh University, where he was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Bob described his years at Lehigh and friendships with his fraternity brothers as some of his best. Bob transferred to Boston University where he completed a degree in Business Administration. He worked as a credit manager for Simplex Grinnell / TYCO for more than 20 years before joining Best Buy as a sales associate prior to his retirement in 2022.

Bob leaves his partner, Nancy Kindregan of Pembroke, Massachusetts, whom he loved dearly. Bob also leaves his children Peter and Katherine, both of Oakland, California and their mother, Lisa Branch Quinn of Portland, Maine. He will be missed by his siblings Pat (Quinn) Hayden and her husband Hap of Amelia Island, Florida; Barbara Quinn, RSCJ, of Newton, Massachusetts; Peter Quinn of Beverly, Massachusetts; John Quinn and his wife Wilma of Wakefield, Massachusetts; and Nancy (Quinn) Lagasse and her husband Kevin of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, as well as his many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a loyal and kind partner, brother and friend. He had jokes (some better than others) ready for every occasion. He would light up a room with his snappy attire, quick smile and big personality, and as they say, “he never met a stranger.” Bob was a competitive runner and shared a passion for Villanova Basketball with his partner, Nancy. All who had the opportunity to know him will fondly remember him.

There will be a celebration of Bob’s life on Sunday, September 3, 2023, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Scituate Maritime Center, 119 Edward Foster Road, Scituate, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to Anchor House, Plymouth, Massachusetts, or the charity of your choice in Bob’s memory.
