Maureen was not just my agent, she was my friend. Once we got the insurance part out of the way, we would catch up on the goings-on. We laughed and sometimes cried at whatever was happening in our lives. We shared advice and experience and always parted with a hug. At Christmas, I would bring Maureen a bottle of pinot noir and tell her I chose it because I liked either the name or the label. She'd later let me know whether it was any good!
When Maureen told me she was retiring I asked what took her so long and then went to my car and cried. Gosh, I miss her. She was one of a kind. What began as simply writing policies for my home and auto became a friendship that lasted nearly two decades. I am blessed to have known her and am all the richer and wiser for it.
My sincere and heartfelt sympathy to her beloved husband, children and grandchildren. She spoke of you all so often over the years and always with that special twinkle in her eyes and a heart full of love and pride. May you find some comfort in the memories and the knowledge that you will meet again~
