“I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Not being diminished in any way except by the narrator’s own perspective, she slowly disappears.
Then, someone at my side says, “There, she is gone.
Gone where?
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me — not in her.
Thus the ship remains strong and able, carrying precious cargo safety to its destination.
And, just at the moment when someone says, “There, she is gone,”
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, “Here she comes!”
And there she waits
My mother read this poem at my grandmother’s funeral I hope it brings you all some comfort. My heart goes out to all of you, Toni was an absolute gem of a woman and her strength lives within her children and loving husband, who I know will all make her proud

I've had the honor to work with Toni at swim meets for nearly two decades. She always gave 100% of herself to ensure that the kids had a positive experience. Her infectious smile, kindness and friendship will be greatly missed.
Rest in Peace Toni. We will continue to pray for your family.

Paul, Dalton and Cora,
Please accept my deepest sympathies during this difficult time. I never had the opportunity to me your mom but I heard many amazing stories about her and how proud she was of her family. Paul, I'm so sorry for the loss of your wife. Nothing hurts worse that the loss of a spouse. She will always be with you in your heart.

The 1st & last time we saw you was in 1994 when you came to Indiana to see your father (my late husband) when he was in the hospital. I was your little brother Joshua and I was only a year old as we met for the 1st & last time that day as well. Over the years we kept in touch & we looked forward to receiving your family Christmas photo cards every year. You never forgot one year. We will miss receiving that this year, but you won't be forgotten.
To Paul: we know your heart is broken and your life has turned inside out. Your feeling incomplete & lost. You've lost your life partner and your love. Nothing can replace her. We hate that you have to suffer through this, but be assured that one day you will be together again. We are praying for you.
To Dalton & Cora:
Our hearts are breaking for the loss of your mother. We loved your mother's smile and her welcoming personality. We can't believe she's gone, but her legacy lives on in you and we know without a doubt that you made your mother so proud. There are no words to convey how terrible this is. Please know that however you're feeling right now—sad, numb, guilty, tired, angry—it's normal. There's no right way or wrong way to grieve. We love you and am so sad that you're going through this.
Please know we are thinking of you and praying for you. If there's anything we can do, don't hesitate to let us know. We are here if you need us for anything. You've experienced such a huge loss in saying goodbye to your wife & mother. When you're ready, We'd love to hear more about who she was to you and what your times together were like.
RIP Toni & beloved sister
Love Darla & Joshua

During my first Sharkfest swim across Boston Harbor my tracker fell off my ankle right at the finish which led to me receiving a “DNF” even though I did finish. I was devastated because I would’ve placed in my age category. The next year, Toni personally brought me duct tape and taped every other swimmers tracker too because she wasn’t going to let that happen to anyone again. She was everyone’s second Mom at CCSC and always will be in our hearts.

The world is a better place, because Toni was part of it. Though we only knew each other through officiating swim, we found that we had so many mutual connections. It proves that good people run in close circles. My condolences to your family Toni, you will be missed for sure. Thank you for being you.

My dear friend Toni, to know you was to love you! I will miss your enormous smile and even bigger heart. Thank you for befriending me all those years ago on the train ride home from the city. If not for your outgoing personality and willingness to help we may never have met. You were a gift and a blessing.
Love and miss you.

Swim meet adventures will never be the same without my partner in crime. Toni became a treasured friend/extra sister as we bonded over our kids adventures in swim, college and becoming adults. Meeting at JC Penny parking lot to carpool to a meet, taking a ferry to Matha's Vineyard or Nantucket we would talk nonstop.
Toni would light up any adventure with her infectious smile, her cute dimple and of course there was the occasional eye roll!
Miss you my friend.

The last time I seen my sister was when my father was in the hospital. It’s as if he waited for all of us to be together. I wish we were closer Toni. I was young when we moved away. We never really had a great bond because of it. But I loved you and always knew in my heart I had a big sister. Give Daddy hugs and kisses for me. One day I will see you guys again.
Love,
Your sister Danielle

The Carver community is better because Toni was in it. Her smile was infectious. I enjoyed our unplanned chats in the isles of Market Basket. She would proudly boast of Dalton and Cora. Toni would beam just saying their names. It's such a sad day. Wishing all of her family peace. We will remember you Toni.
With deepest sympathies, Leanne, Michael, Ethan and Morgan Allegrini

Toni was loving and generous. When I first met her, she had her arms opened for warm hugs because that was who she was. When she would help Cora move in, she made sure she wore her Bryant Mom shirt and had a huge smile in her face. I used to say that was her tradition. May she rest in peace. God gained a beautiful soul.
