Obituary of Joseph T. Keohane

Braintree, MA: Joseph Timothy Keohane, born on June 26, 1947, in Braintree, Massachusetts, and a longtime resident of Randolph, MA, and Alexandria, VA, passed away peacefully after battling illness for the last few years. Surrounded by the love of his family, Joseph's life was a testament to resilience, love, and the enduring bonds he forged with those he held dear.

Joseph was the beloved father of four daughters, each of whom he loved and cherished deeply: Renee Leondike and her husband Charles, Michelle Owens and her husband Donald, Kristy Hill and her husband Michael, and Cheryl Gleason and her husband Christopher. His pride extended to his nine grandchildren: Christopher, Adam, Danielle, Emma, Timothy, Brenna, Harrison, Olivia, and Conor. Joseph's love for his family was boundless, and he found immense joy in their accomplishments. He instilled in his daughters the values of independence, strength, and caring for family. His pride in their achievements was evident, and he loved them wholeheartedly.

Joseph's passions were diverse and reflected the rich tapestry of his life. As a model railroad enthusiast, he found joy in the intricacies of miniature landscapes. His pride in his firearms collection was apparent. Joseph's love for travel led him to explore the beauty of National Parks, and he cherished the serenity of fishing on a boat. Animals, especially cats, held a special place in Joseph's heart. His most beloved feline companions, Buffy and Winnie, brought him comfort and joy. 

Joseph was a pillar of support and affection for his nieces and nephews, demonstrating unwavering love throughout their lives. Strong in his faith, he found solace and strength in his beliefs. Known for his warmth and generosity, Joseph was always ready to share what he had, even when faced with life's challenges. His enduring friendships with friends from Braintree High School highlighted his commitment to meaningful connections. Joseph's love extended beyond his family, as evidenced by his annual role as Santa at his church. He brought joy and laughter to those around him, embodying the season's spirit.

A dedicated HVAC engineer, Joseph loved his work passionately, bringing expertise and enthusiasm to his profession. He proudly helped design the systems at the Boston Public Library, The Smithsonian, and the Quantico. His work became a source of pride and fulfillment in his life. After spending the last 20 years in Alexandria, VA, Joseph decided to return to Massachusetts when he became ill. 

Joseph's legacy is one of love and strength. May he rest in peace, his spirit forever in the hearts of those who loved him. Visiting Hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St Kingston, MA, on Thursday, December 28, from 4 to 8 pm. Prayer service will be held Friday at 10am at the Shepherd Funeral Home.
