Obituary of Sylvia Marta Coppola

Sylvia Marta Coppola passed away peacefully at home on Christmas Day of 2023, in the embrace of her loving husband Richard Coppola with her sister Rita Pearson by her side following a heroic battle with breast cancer.

Sylvia is survived by her husband Richard A. Coppola, her daughter Lisa Hufnagel-Davis and her husband Dillon, her son Eric Hufnagel and his wife Jillian, her stepson Brendan Hero Coppola, her sister Rita Pearson and her husband John, her ex-husband Donald Hufnagel, as well as countless relatives and friends who were touched by her infectious and loving charm. She loved her dogs Carlos and Santana as well as her rabbit and chickens.

Sylvia was born in Boston on November 23, 1960 to her parents the late Bela and Jolan Toth. She grew up in the Hyde Park neighborhood. She graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 

Sylvia's zest for life was boundless. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends, dancing, listening to live music, kayaking, boating, hiking, travel, zumba, social groups, events, and expanding her spirituality. She was a compassionate and knowledgeable mentor for other women with breast cancer.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will live in all our hearts forever.

Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Carver, MA on Tuesday, January 2 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A burial service will begin on January 3 at 10:00 AM. Burial will directly follow across the street Central Cemetery in Carver.  

Flowers are welcome or donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
