Obituary of Margaret (Peggy) L. Bass

Please share a memory of Margaret (Peggy) L. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Margaret L. (Peggy) Bass of Duxbury passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends at Wingate Nursing Home in Kingston on January 7th, 2024. She was 56 years old, originally from Scituate, Peggy lived for many years in Hull where she worked as a waitress at Stars in Hingham MA. She loves serving her customers and was very friendly and caring to everyone she served. She often talked about how much she loved her time there. Before moving to Marshfield and then to Duxbury. She suffered a massive stroke in 2008 but managed to live independently for nearly fifteen years before her health began to decline. Always a fighter, Peggy bounced back from numerous setbacks and returned home. An avid Red Sox fan, Peggy looked forward to the baseball season every year and whooped and hollered through every game. It was truly her favorite pastime.

She was the daughter of the late Herman and Margaret Bass. She is survived by her son, Jon Stewart Bass of Lawrence, KS, a beloved grandson, Elliot William Bass of Atchison, KS, three sisters, Sally Davis of Duxbury, Sandra Douglas of Pembroke, and Susan Cove of Wesley Chapel, FL, and a brother, Craig Bass of Swampscott and several nieces and nephews; Douglas Walker, Margaret Murphy, Matthew Bass and the late Daniel Cove and Evan Baldi.

There will be a private service at a future date to be announced.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Standish Humane Society
622 Congress St., #3113
