To Aunt Marge, Bob, John, Dan, Peggy, Eileen, Colleen and Sharon,
Uncle Robert and Aunt Marge were with us for our father’s passing and internment. That was in 2002. Then, as now, loss is a burden borne individually but shared communally. As we celebrate the life of Uncle Robert, we also feel the loss of another grand, larger than life man. Another of the ‘greatest generation’ but also, more closely to us all, a husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who has passed.
Perhaps, we all feel how the O’Brien brothers (Thomas, Edwin, Robert and Donald) have cast their influence across their families and worlds. Uncle Robert’s obituary details a wonderful, full life, filled with love, family and happiness. Today, he reunites with his parents and brothers who preceded him. A glorious day in Heaven.
A man of God, a man of faith, a man of family. As Psalm 23 states, “Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”. Uncle Robert - may you rest in peace, in the loving embrace of Jesus.
Aunt Marge and family - may you be comforted by your faith and your love for one another.
