Uncle John was my guardian figure. Blessed to have him in life. Grateful to have hugged him close to tell him I loved him, one more time. He was a man who showed fortitude in the face of many difficulties in a way that I wasn’t fully aware of until later in life. Despite that, he has been there since birth. He worked so hard, he was one of my inspirations to work hard in school, to have an easier life. When I would come home, after months away for work/travel, he was always there at family gatherings to swap stories and share a laugh. It meant a lot to me to see that he was a proud uncle. I’m proud of him too, his character, selflessness, sense of humor and generosity. Even to the end, he was the same man I’ve always known. Johnny is one-of-a-kind, loved, and missed. His influence is woven into the lives of many people, and I’m eternally grateful. I hope I continue to make you proud and I miss you. Rest well Uncle John.

My dear brother John,
I am so grateful to have you as my brother. The brother that looked out for me. So many childhood memories we shared as we grew.
Here is some shared memories:
John walked me down the aisle and handed me over to my husband .
John is funny. He says to Erik, “I knew you were the best man for my sister. Those other guys were losers.” LOL! God I love my brother John.
Best child-hood memory: John and I were climbing up on a stage. Little rug rates that we were. When we were scolded by Johnny Cash, “Hey you kids! Get down of that stage.” I am still laughing. Such a proud moment.
Thank you John. Will love you always.

Uncle Johnny earned great wisdom from his life experiences, his readings and his work. He always impressed me with his ability to talk about composers, artists, and musicians as if he knew them personally. Like my Mom, Johnny could make food that compared to no other. I still haven’t had lasagna better than what he made for my high school graduation. Working with him I was able to see first hand his work ethic and talent, which he himself was quite proud of, as it should be. Our dog, Boss Hog, would have some great things to say about Johnny if he were able to, they had a great bond.
I hope you are resting in peace John,
With love,
Scott
