The best neighbors! So many shared loves and history . We always felt safe and truly a part of a neighborhood when we got back to Linden Lane and Fred and my Dad called, Hello Colonel to one another over the fence..
And I will never forget the sweet intimacy of Betsy bringing me an assortment of her "mumus" to wear after my hip surgery... She and my Mom both had quite a collection and shared a joy for lounging in them and reading and exchanging excellent books ( as good Smithies do!)
And I loved getting the call and invitation from over the fence when she shared her excitement that family- and especially the granddaughters were coming to visit.
