As his oldest sister I can say that David was an adorable little rascal when he was a toddler. He was #4 in a family of 8 and his Mom had 3 children under 3 years old and then came David! When he was about 4 1/2 on a rainy day, when the yard in Connecticut was all muddy, he decided to go upstairs and take all the sheets off the beds and throw them out the window. My Mom was doing dishes down in the kitchen and noticed this deluge of raining sheets. Just what she needed, with nothing else to do all day!! He also loved to climb, and when he was a bit younger he was found on top of the dining room table swinging the expensive chandelier back and forth. Luckily in the 50’s it was allowed to put a harness on your child when you took them out in public. I can still picture my Mom walking with him with the rope fully taut, he was a handful, literally! He grew up to love swimming and soccer and then he got into music, He played the guitar and formed a band with his buddies and continued his love of music his whole life. He was a real Dead Head, the Grateful Dead Band was his favorite for years. When he had his own home and yard, he became a life long excellent and very happy gardener. His summer produce was bar none and he taught me several gardening tips that I still use to this day. He made great sweet pickles, sweet onions and even sugar water for the humming birds. He loved his family and he will be greatly missed.
Love,
Mary Kay Wood

The countless days and evenings spent together in our earlier years will always be remembered. The stories we could share are countless, what great times they were, and all because of David's cheerful demeanor. Never one to get upset, David always had a smile on, and if you didn't , you could be sure he would see to it that you did in short order. A devoted husband and extremely loving and proud father and grandfather. David will surely be missed, but shall remain in our hearts forever.

Carol, Steph, Mands and the grand kiddos - Mr. Segar as he will forever be to me, though I can hear him now going "Shel, we are at work you gotta call me Dave" - will always be the Dad that took us camping, let us run wild in the back yard on the zipline and actually came in the pool with us! Best griller on the South Shore and when you needed a game- he had it.
Love you all so much.
xoxo
