We remember John, the man who always knew just when to slip in a witty remark. A masterful gentleman whose thoughtful gestures were just like his joke delivery - impeccable timing. This world won't be the same without his humor giving life an extra shine. To say he will be missed doesn't fully detail memory's inkwell nor our unsung salutes.

Jack Hill: He was always Jack.
He was my class room mentor. His standard of "Always be fair" still resonates.
He introduced me to New Hampshire hiking, and supported the hiking Club's trips in New England, the West Coast summits and the Canadian Rockies.
He encouraged the Drama and Thespian Troupe programs. Furthermore, he helped improve the stage areas and argued for the building of the first Black Box and the Performing Arts professional quality stage.
He was like a big brother and a friend.
You are missed.

Dr. Hill and I arrived at Duxbury High School the same year. He was a quiet, humble presence there and I had little reason to interact with him, mostly because he left the "bad cop" stuff to Mr. Blakeman. Who knew the richness of his life! I think only once did I need to appear in his office. I, along with others were instigators of the Time Strike of 1969-70. The mandatory reading of Time magazine seemed to limit the points of view we were exposed to was our argument, however the real complaint was that first in the day test takers got the test and those later in the day got the answers! He agreed to take it into consideration and asked for suggested alternatives. Unfortunately, the test seemed to just fade away. I think Mr Hill (no doctorate yet) admired our critical thinking. I attribute a good part of my success in life to my time at Duxbury High and the atmosphere under his leadership. Also, as a Coffee Shop girl I was exposed to the good natured debate and ribbing of most of the town leaders when they gathered on weekends. Thank you Mr. Hill! An amazing life you had! We hardly knew ye back then!

Had the honor of serving on the Board of Duxbury Library Trustees with Dr. Hill. I remember his kind, warm inclusiveness and educated insight in all matters.

Your dad, was the best......he had the greatest attitude, personality to be a Principal. He always smiled, had respect, and knew "how to deal with teens" He kept it light, but with control, he was respected....he knew how to interact with us teens....he made a difference.....Dr. Hill's life story so explains his ethics....such a great wonderful impacting gentle soul.....of all...I will never forget, but always remember Dr. Hill....he always had a smile...you knew he loved his work....Kathie (Bobseine) Khederian class of 1971
