Obituary of Francis D. Mollomo
Halifax, MA- Francis "Frankie" D. Mollomo, age 97, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024, in the comfort of his home.
He was raised by the late (all) Madeline Balboni and stepfather Henry, along with father Dominic Mollomo and stepmother Grace.
Frankie grew up in Boston and Pembroke, MA., later in life living in both Plympton and Halifax. In his early years after high school, he served in the US Navy and later in the US Coastguard, where he specialized in radio communications. After leaving the service, he began working as an apprentice and eventually becoming a licensed electrician, where he met his wife, the late Doris "Mickie" Mollomo whom he was married to for over 50 years. During his career, he was hired as a traffic electrician for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation where he spent many years. After retiring from the DOT, he spent over 15 years volunteering at the Jordan Hospital, happily greeting patients and assisting them in navigating their visits.
Frankie was a history buff who visited many historical monuments and battlefields. He was an avid lifelong reader; you could always find a book in his hand or by his side. He also enjoyed sailing and traveling. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and his beloved grandchildren, who he took on wild adventures, from exploring secret trails to ice cream road trips. Frankie will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind, gentle, fun-loving man with an unwavering smile, a gift for storytelling and jokes, and an incredible sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
Frankie is survived by his loving daughter, Michelle Bosworth, and her husband, Charlie of Halifax; his granddaughter, Heather MacCormack, and her husband, Matt; and his grandson, Guy Bosworth, and his wife, Ashley. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren, Tyler and Caitlin Bosworth and Caleb MacCormack, many nieces and nephews, and his loving sister, Thea Silvia of Florida. Frankie was the brother of the late Anne Siereveld and Roy Mollomo.
