Obituary of Marion J. Vaitkus
Marion J. Vaitkus of Pocasset, MA passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Cape Cod Senior Residences. She was born on October 15, 1933, in Watertown, and was the loving daughter of the late Emilio and Jennie (Tomolillo) Caira and the loving wife of the late Anthony Vaitkus who passed away in 1998.
Marion will be remembered for her deep Christian faith, for always placing family before herself and for personifying the virtues of hard work and truthfulness. Marion had many passions but will be remembered for her quilting masterpieces.
Marion is survived by her son, Paul Vaitkus and wife Julie of Plymouth and her grandchildren, Jessica Fuller and husband, David, Paul Vaitkus Jr. and his wife Krysten, and Andrea Emidy, and her husband Michael. She was especially proud and delighted to be “Nana” to her four great-grandchildren: Annabelle Fuller, Jackson Fuller, Katherine Emidy and the newest addition to the family born September 7th, Benjamin Paul Emidy.
She cared deeply for her siblings: Rosalee Mazzola, Jeanette Reynolds, Barbara Dupille, Evelyn Caira and the late Lucy Murgo, Henry Caira, Anthony Caira. Emilio Caira Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21st, at St. Joseph Church, 272 Main St, Kingston and all are welcome.
Marion’s family is deeply grateful for the outstanding staff at Cape Cod Senior Residences, who tirelessly provide remarkable care and compassion to all their residents.
