Marilyn A. Anderson, beloved wife of the late Paul F. Anderson passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024. She was born April 9, 1945 in South Boston, MA, the daughter of the late Evelyn Capone, and was raised in South Boston and Weymouth. She spent her married years living in Quincy, then on the U.S. Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay Cuba, and finally settled in Kingston, where she lived for three decades until her death.

Marilyn was a Mission Support Specialist for U.S. Customs and Border Protection prior to her retirement. She held an Associate’s Degree in Science in Early Childhood Education and in her younger years was employed as a preschool Director both in Quincy and on the U.S. Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. She authored an early childhood educational handbook that is still being used to this day.

Marilyn’s hobbies included cooking, baking, gardening, making crafts, buying jewelry and shopping. She enjoyed life, loved to sing and dance, and was very passionate about politics. She found great joy in giving to others as well as spending time and connecting with her family and friends.

She is survived by her three children, Paul M. Anderson of Kingston, Jim M. Anderson of Kingston, Lynne A. Grubb and her husband Paul of North Billerica; one grandson, Paul Grubb; one sister Gloria Gould and her husband Bob of Halifax; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters Jeanne McPhee, Evelyn Hopkins, and Josephine Jackson.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 8, 2024 from 4:00p – 8:00p at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, Kingston, MA 02364. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn’s name to The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB.org), 70 South Bay Avenue, Boston, MA 02118, a cause very close to her heart, are appreciated.
