Obituary of Joseph Timothy Riccio

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joseph Timothy Riccio, 68, passed away peacefully on November 10th, 2024. Joe died surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on September 2nd,1956 to Teresa and Buddy Riccio (deceased) and resided in Duxbury, MA.

Joe grew up in Somerville, MA on Craigie Street, alongside his extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He attended Matignon High School where he played football and basketball. He went on to Bentley College where he met Laurie, his wife of 40 years. After completing his studies, Joe worked at the U.S. Department of Treasury for many years. He was proud to be the father of two amazing daughters, Tessa and Jenna.

In his early years, he found a love of camping through his father and uncle. Through the years, Joe enjoyed ski trips across New England with his wife and later his daughters. He loved driving onto Duxbury Beach with his family and friends. He loved visiting his favorite Caribbean Island, Aruba, where you could always see him on a jet ski. When not traveling, you could find him walking at the Marshfield sea wall, where he routinely brought his best friend, our family dog Nikki. You likely saw him driving there in his black Mercedes with the BUD6 license plate.

Joe is survived by his wife, Laurie Riccio and his children, Tessa Kahan and Jenna Riccio. Joe recently met his first grandchild, Oliver Kahan. He is also survived by his siblings Anne Morello, Mary Sardo, and Michele Riccio.

Friends and family remember him as someone who was kind-hearted and always willing to help.

Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home in Kingston, MA on Thursday, November 14th from 2pm to 6pm.
