I loved chatting with Dot at coffee hour at the First Trinitarian Congregational Church in Scituate. She spoke lovingly about her family and also about the advocacy work she did for Bread For The World. I will always think of Dot when I see one of the beautiful quilts she made for our church. She will be greatly missed.

It was an inspiration to witness Dot's energy and enthusiasm for helping those in need. She was an amazing advocate for Bread for the World. Dot always spoke up for that worthy organization at our Mission & Outreach (M&O) meetings at church. She would explain, with great passion, some pathways and campaigns that might help to reduce hunger and food insecurities, wherever those terrible problems existed in the world.
M&O used to meet in the church library, a room that has a variety of spread out, comfortable, cushioned seating, as well as a conference table with straight back wooden chairs. Looking back now, I realize that we moved from the more informal seating to sitting around that table, because of Dot. She said it was easier for her to hear what everyone had to say. I'm certain that was true, but it was also true, that because of her suggestion, we were literally closer together as a group, working for common goals. The energy really was better. Thank you, Dot. Thank you for all your insight, and for being such a wonderful example.

Dot use to come in to the FTCC office, always with a smile and good wishes. She shared her compassion with many of us who had difficulties or loss. Her contribution via the writing ministry. She was shy about her artistic talent. I have 2 of her paintings hanging in my living room which I cherish. We will miss her - Rest in Peace.
