Obituary of Christopher R. Zaniewski

Please share a memory of Christopher R. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Christopher (Chris) Robert Zaniewski, 43, of Carver, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 26, 2022.  He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Colleen Wolcott Zaniewski and his adoring 9-year-old daughter, Sophia Zaniewski, his father, Mark Zaniewski, his mother, Diane Zeidman and her husband Michael Zeidman, his sister, Heather Zaniewski, his niece, Payton Liddell, and his nephew, Cash Liddell. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Robert and Barbara Tarantino.

Chris is also survived by his mother-in-law, Joanne Wolcott, his sister-in law, Jennifer Bryant and her husband Paul Bryant, his sister-in-law, Marianne Speakman and her husband, Michael Speakman, his nieces, Shannon Bryant and Karolyne Speakman, and his nephews, Curran and Dylan Speakman.  He is predeceased by his father-in-law, Roger Wolcott.

Chris was born on March 18, 1979, in Weymouth.  He was raised in Carver and attended Carver schools, graduating Carver High School Class of 1997.  Not long after graduating Chris met the love of his life and his best friend, Colleen and they began their beautiful life together.  Chris was a deeply loyal soul and he and Colleen have made many lifelong friends in the tight knit community of Carver, where he was well known for his kind heart and fun-loving personality.  He loved to make others laugh and his own laughter was contagious. He was just the kind of guy you wanted to be around. A professional salesman, he never met a person he couldn’t hold an hour-long conversation with.  Chris dearly loved his music and had a special talent in discovering new music. He loved his visits with his dad listening to music and making him guess the artist. He cherished his quiet time with his wife enjoying spectacular sunsets, going on mystery rides, discovering new restaurants and attending concerts together.

Chris was a devoted father and proud spectator at Sophia’s soccer games and dance recitals.  You would often hear him yelling “27” at a blushing Sophia. They would watch endless soccer clips of professional soccer players and marvel at their incredible talent. He loved sharing his music with his daughter.  He was always so impressed she knew all the words after only listening a couple of times. His little “Goose” definitely inherited her dad’s ear for music. They loved to hunker down for family movie night or explore nature on their family trips to North Conway, NH.  Chris lit up the entire Saco River with his music as the family floated away down the river. He truly was happy just spending time with his family and friends.

Chris had many hobbies, but especially liked to explore the latest gadgets and technology.  He was a true New England sports fan, he liked researching police cars, and he was a wiz at Jeopardy.

Chris will be greatly missed by so many but will live on in our hearts and in all the memories we will continue to share.  Our hearts our broken for a loving man taken home far too soon.

Visitation will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main St, Carver on December 4, 2022, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.  The funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on December 5, 2022, at 10:00am.
