In his life, John was a Marine Corps veteran, an artist, a professional diver, a lover of sailboats and Triumph motorcycles, a tinkerer of engines of all kinds, an adventurer, and a skilled storyteller. He was always ready to lend an ear or helping hand to a family member or neighbor in need. John was an active member of the Marshfield Disabled American Veterans. He embraced freedom of expression, freedom to live authentically, and freedom to express one's individuality without reservation.
