Obituary of David Douglas Rollock Sr.

David Douglas Rollock Sr., 62 of Kingston, MA passed away on June 29th, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.

Daivid's strong, tenacious spirit fought to be with us to the very end, but his body was tired from many years of living with Multiple Sclerosis. 

David was born on December 17th, 1961, in Quincy, MA to the parents of Clinton Arthur Rollock and Margaret Jane (Crosby) Rollock. He was the youngest of five siblings.

When he was 6, the family moved to Pembroke, where he grew up and attended Silver Lake Regional High School. David then began working in landscaping, excavation, carpentry and framing. He enjoyed hard work and being outside.When Multiple Sclerosis prevented him from continuing in this line of work, he began installing TV Systems in hotels and hospitals. 

He married Sandra Nickerson in October 1988, and together they had 4 children. Before the MS diagnosis was confirmed, David was very active. He enjoyed many hobbies, including downhill skiing, snowmobiling, dirt biking, jet skiing, boating, fishing, cars and motorcycles, and anything he could do outdoors. He also loved music, cooking, building things, and most importantly spending time with his children. Even when he became wheelchair bound, David had the fastest motorized chair to pop wheelies and race through the hallways of Wingate at Silver Lake, raising hell but also smiles from all those he encountered.David had a feisty attitude, a smart mouth and a tough love exterior, but he also had a gentle heart. He will be deeply missed.

He is predeceased by his parents Clinton and Margert Rollock and his mother-in-law, Marilyn Nickerson.

He is survived by his four children, Caitlyn Nickerson and her husband Johnny Clark of Livermore Falls, ME, David Douglas "Doug" Rollock, Jr and his wife Kristen (Mazzapica) Rollock of Middleboro, MA, Cassandra (Rollock) Maines and her husband Derek Maines of Nashua, NH and Chelsae (Rollock) Gordan and husband Sean Gordon of Sandown, NH; four Grandchildren, Gianna, Addison, Charlotte and Elizabeth "Lili"; Siblings are Gary Rollock of Buckfield, ME, Jacqueline Rollock Durette of Sandwich, MA, James Rollock of Portland, OR and William Rollock of Murrells Inlet, SC; many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended relatives; mother to his children Sandii Rollock and her partner Kevin Tocci; Father-in-law Pete Nickerson; as well as many friends including those made at Wingate of Silver Lake through the years.

Calling hours will be held Monday July 8th 10am -12pm at Shepherd Funeral Home 216 Main St. Kingston, a service at the Funeral Home at 12noon and burial will follow at the Center Cemetery, Pembroke MA.
